Diagnostics

Wouldn’t it be great if our pets could speak? That way, when they weren’t feeling well or had been injured, they’d be able to explain exactly what was bothering them and where it hurt. Imagine how much easier it would be to ensure that they stayed healthy and happy. Unfortunately, our animal companions can’t talk to tell us what’s wrong, which is why veterinary diagnostics are so important. These invaluable tools allow our experienced vets to get a look at what’s happening inside your pet’s body so we can diagnose and treat the problem in a timely manner. Early detection and treatment can vastly improve the outcome for your companion.

Highland Animal Hospital utilizes a wide range of diagnostic services, both routine and advanced, to manage the ongoing health of our patients. We have convenient, on-site radiology (x-ray) equipment available to examine the bones and other internal organs as well as ECG machines for cardiology evaluations. Our in-house laboratory provides for the fast and accurate retrieval of a wide variety of diagnostic test results including: serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. For those situations where an expert opinion or further testing is recommended, we also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and can arrange for consultations with board certified veterinary specialists.

Because your pet cannot speak to let you know what’s wrong, it’s our job to speak for them. Our diagnostic services provide us with the opportunity to identify, diagnose and treat whatever may be bothering your animal family member so we can get them back on the road to good health again as quickly as possible.
