Boarding & Grooming

What is your plan for who will care for your animal companion the next time you head out of town? Why not bring them to a place where they can feel comfortable, surrounded by familiar faces and all the perks and amenities they need to feel right at home? At Highland Animal Hospital, our boarding guests receive plenty of care, attention and TLC to help them enjoy their stay. Let us become your pet’s home away from home!

Dog Boarding

Our canine guests are treated to comfortable accommodations in spacious quarters, complete with clean blankets and soft bedding. All dogs are walked in our fenced in yard at least three times each day by our attentive staff members so they can enjoy plenty of exercise and fresh air. Each guest is taken out separately, except in instances where we have multiple dogs from the same family staying with us.

We feed a tasty diet designed for even the most sensitive stomachs, but you are welcome to bring your own food, should you prefer. Any dog that stays with us for boarding receives a complimentary bath after five days, and our full service hospital is always available should your pet need anything additional during his or her stay.

Cat Boarding

Feline guests at Highland Animal Hospital are kept safely away from our canine guests, but enjoy a cage-free boarding experience. There are climbing towers and plenty of toys to play with. Or, if they prefer, they can lounge to their hearts’ content. The air is infused with feline pheromones and classical music is piped throughout to provide for a more comfortable, relaxing stay. We take particular pride in our feline boarding area, which is designed to make each guest feel right at home during their stay.

Logistics

Boarding is only available for established patients of Highland Animal Hospital and a preliminary meet and greet is required prior to their first stay. This allows us to get to know your companion and to establish a trusting relationship, which will make staying with us a much better experience for everyone. If your pet is not yet a patient with us and you wish to utilize our boarding services, simply schedule a first exam prior to the dates you’re planning to be away.

All dogs staying in our boarding facility must be up to date on Rabies, Distemper and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines. We also require that all pets be current on their flea prevention. If your pet is not current on one or more of these things, we would be happy to provide those services before your pet’s stay.

For your convenience, boarding guests may be dropped off or picked up anytime, Monday through Saturday, during our regular business hours.
